Preserving Privacy with Virtual Machines
Web tracking is the latest high profile privacy threat. Simply put, many www sites leave cookies and similar data tags behind when one visits the site. When other sites are re-visited, the information from the different sites can be correlated, creating a privacy hazard. Also, various sites may require the installation of ActiveX controls, or may have been compromised, and may attempt to install malware. Disposable virtual machines are not difficult to create, and provide the ability to use a virgin system for each web session, limiting the damage. This session will demonstrate how to achieve this level of safety.
