Web Server Scripting in “C”
Web server “scripts” for back-end processing can be written in a variety of languages: PHP, PERL, and DCL are often mentioned. It is not often mentioned that conventional, non-scripting languages can also be used, with a correspondingly higher level of efficiency. This is particularly true when back-end processing is executed with great frequency. Minimizing the resouce footprint of frequently executed functions has significant impact on response time, capital costs, and agility of scale-up. This session will show that impact, together with examples of the code.
